Managing Director and Co-Founder
Simon is responsible for the overall strategic direction of CDS, new business development and CDS' retained search practices. Prior to co-founding CDS in 1998, Simon was the Vice President of another Japan based executive search & market entry firm. He is originally from the UK and has a B.A. in History from the University of East Anglia and a Diploma in Business Administration from Henley Business School. He is a fluent speaker of Cantonese and he has a strong working knowledge of Japanese.
Simon is a former Chief Inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Police where he commanded teams in Commercial Crimes Bureau as well as VIP Protection Unit. He also worked as an Operations Manager for a British Trading company dealing in China, Indonesia and Vietnam. He was involved in the setting up of new offices, recruiting of key staff and managing all quality control and export issues with suppliers. In total, he has over 20 years of experience in both public and private sector management.
In his free time, Simon trains for endurance events and he has completed seven marathons, the London Triathlon and a 100K Oxfam sponsored Trailwalker in the vicinity of Mt. Fuji.
