VP APAC, Global IT & Telecommunications Infrastructure Solutions Provider
CDS has successfully completed a retained search for a VP APAC for a global software company that delivers scalable, real-time, end-to-end management of complex IT and telecommunications infrastructures.
CDS had previously filled Country Manager positions in Japan and India for the same client. They then overlooked some of the global retained search firms in favor of CDS to undertake a critical search, which would also involve the relocation of the current regional HQ from Sydney to HK or Singapore. CDS partnered with a regional search partner to ensure a comprehensive shortlist of qualified Mandarin speaking talent and the managing partner for the search undertook trips to Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai to finalize candidacy.
The client had a very thorough interview and due diligence process with 7 or 8 key interviewers in the US and Europe needing to meet short-listed candidates in person. CDS had to manage busy candidate and client expectations across different time zones and keep all parties interested and focused. We were successful in overcoming the challenges and the client has expressed its appreciation of the high quality shortlist presented leading to an accepted offer.
This search demonstrates CDS’ capability to operate outside of our traditional strengths in Japan based executive search and to handle a regional search at the highest levels. The successful candidate will take up his new position in Hong Kong in January 2006.
