Supply Chain Operation Manager, US-based Medical Company
Our
client is a US-based specialty pharmaceutical and
medical device company focused in the treatment for
patients with complex medical disorders and is one of
the leaders in its niche therapeutic segments. Despite
its market leading position, this company, like all
healthcare companies in Japan, faces significant
pressures to remain competitive such as NHI price
reductions, increasing costs of drug development in
Japan, as well as increasing presence of global
competitors.
In order
to cope with these pressures, the company had gone
through a significant restructuring of their
organization and looked to CDS to assist them in
strengthening their Japanese organization. Through our
in-depth discussions with key executives regarding
critical assignments, we were able to develop an
excellent understanding of the current challenges facing
this client in the market, their specific and general
needs as well as their selling points to attract the
most qualified candidates.
Although there
was no specific position open in supply chain operations
at the time, we took a proactive approach to introduce a
very strong candidate who was sourced from a similar
industry that we believed could create significant value
through supply chain optimization and cost reductions.
The client also realized this candidate’s potential and
was able to quickly move through the interview process
and create a new position that would realize the
candidate’s strengths. At the time of offer, the
candidate also had several competing offers but we were
able to facilitate the negotiation process and sell the
candidate not only on the opportunity itself, but also
career development opportunities with this client.
